Oscar's last, but not least! I'm not really sure at this point where to start. On one hand, he's so young, so I can't really recollect on a few years of memories, but that doesn't mean nothing he's not memoriable.
It's a funny thing, because when I was a teenager, I dated a guy who was a Momma's Boy. Bugged the heck out of me and it ultimately lead to the end ofAmber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-71798288723705613122011-12-05T10:00:00.001-08:002011-12-05T11:35:40.787-08:0025 Days of Gratitude Posts; Day Three(Trying to play catch up here! Bear with me please)
Since she's the next one in line, this post is gonna be about Ruthie.
We were a tad nervous about trying for another baby after having Zoe. We were concerned that my Endometriosis would cause problems; enough where I mentioned them to my doctor who said he'd put me on Clomid if we ended up not being able to conceive after 6 months. Thankfully Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-69966852957273795122011-12-02T14:09:00.001-08:002011-12-05T08:56:16.846-08:0025 Days of Gratitude Posts; Day TwoQuick Note: I wrote this on Friday, but since I wanted to put up a recent picture of Zoe, I just got busy and wasn't able to finish the post until today. Of course, I realize I need to write another three blog posts today so I better get cracking!
I'd say the next thing I'm grateful for are my children, but because they are individuals, they deserve their own posts. And because it's convenient Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-24804242497352910952011-12-01T08:59:00.001-08:002011-12-01T10:06:41.082-08:0025 Days of Gratitude Posts; Day One(I've decided from today until Christmas, I'm going to write a blog post once a day about things I'm grateful for. Considering I've got three separate blogs, I will be writing my posts on the blog that's most relevant to the subject that I'm writing about. I've been having a rough time as of late, and I'm hoping this will benefit me in a few ways. The first reason is to help me get into the Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-23165434616520169342011-07-20T21:54:00.000-07:002011-07-20T21:54:42.213-07:00It's been a while!Man, it's been AGES since I blogged! Things have been kind of busy around here since I had Oscar.
So, let's see... um, Oscar is growing very well, and is doing wonderful. He's a great eater and sleeper and has such a laid back, chill personality; very much like Jeff!
Something we did with the girls was stick a giraffe on their heads on their first Independence Day. Obviously, we had to do this Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-55664307978270446812011-04-27T14:27:00.000-07:002011-04-27T14:27:52.916-07:00Pictures of Oscar!Well, here's some pictures we have of Oscar!
Here's Oscar minutes after being born! This is the picture I sent out to family and friends announcing his arrival.
See, he was really 8 lbs, 9 oz!
He really likes sucking on his thumb. Taken 4/15/11
I love this expression! Taken 4/23/11

I figured it would be best for me to do so while I can remember everything the freshest. So here goes.
The whole time I was pregnant with Oscar, I've seen my doctor on Thursdays; Jeff and I decided out of the day of the week, that was the best day for us. So of course, I had an appointment on April 14th. I went in, and I was weighed, which I guess is Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-63433064421034345732011-02-18T16:57:00.000-08:002011-02-18T16:57:38.923-08:00Ruthie's Birth StorySo, unlike Zoe, I knew my due date with Ruthie, which was Valentine's Day of 2008. So, the day before Ruthie was born (she was born on Saturday, February 9th, 2008), Jeff and I decided at the last minute to make plans to celebrate Valentine's Day the Saturday before by going out to lunch and then catching a movie; I don't remember what movie we were planning to see now, since we didn't Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-39090474730702992022011-02-15T15:10:00.000-08:002011-02-15T15:10:29.158-08:00Zoe's Birth StorySince I'm a pretty active follower of cloth diapering blogs, and I of course follow cloth diapering moms on twitter, I was having a conversation with one the other night.. she was up later than usual and asked if anyone was on, and I said of course.. it's amazing how much you can squeeze into a short blurb! Anyway, she shared her daughter's birth story with me, and it dawned on me I never Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-9737641309848836682011-02-14T06:51:00.000-08:002011-02-14T06:51:57.456-08:00Eight Point Two Eight Six Weeks LeftWell, according to my LMP due date, that's how much longer I have left until my due date of April 13th. (eight weeks 2 days for the mathematically uninclined) Either way, the end is near, and I find this to be a comforting thing, but also a bittersweet thing, since this is for sure our last baby and therefore, my last pregnancy. It's been a while since I actually blogged about Oscar or anything Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-80544629903049737022010-12-27T22:09:00.000-08:002010-12-27T22:09:52.232-08:00The Holidays Are Now OverWhich means the closing of another year. Each year between Christmas and probably the first week after the New Year, I always sit back and reflect on the past year, and contemplate the upcoming one. Unfortunately I have not blogged much this year for various reasons, but I'll try to blog and highlight the ups -and some downs- of the past year.
First and foremost, due to Jeff Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-30543857175391429302010-12-03T15:51:00.000-08:002010-12-03T15:51:39.019-08:00My Appointment, Ultrasound and Other ThingsWell, as you all saw in my last post, we're having a boy! We're both excited, and of course our family is excited for us as well.. although Jeff's excited because as he put it, "[I] won't nag [him] to have anymore kids." Oscar looks great internally and the ultrasound technician said that his heartbeat was really strong, which is a relief. It was so great to see his profile and try to Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-72889514267942171452010-11-25T17:22:00.000-08:002010-11-25T17:23:16.912-08:00Because I Know You Want to Know...Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-46224487714603658592010-11-24T17:42:00.000-08:002010-11-24T17:42:28.869-08:00Five years today...At 12:19 pm, after 14 hours of labor -most of which I slept through- I gave birth to my firstborn, Zoe Elizabeth Hayford. I don't know if I've ever mentioned it before, but her name has some significance to Jeff and I. We both selected Zoe due to the fact that we've never heard of anyone using the name, except that Jeff did have a teacher that named his daughter Zoe. We had the name Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-33350194066547669982010-10-31T22:38:00.000-07:002010-11-24T13:39:09.448-08:00Hot Parenting Topic: Potty Training & of Course, DIAPERS!Zoe and Ruthie are currently both potty trained, and so I'm just going to write a brief paragraph with the experience with both girls.
Zoe was potty trained in March of last year at 3 years and 4 months. We decided with buying a new house, we needed to cut costs where we could, and we told Zoe since we were buying a house, we couldn't afford to buy her diapers anymore, and for her to pick Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-83948136875635405732010-10-22T11:31:00.000-07:002010-10-22T11:32:00.346-07:00My Appointment on 10/21/2010So I saw my doctor again yesterday. I was planning to discuss the whole due date thing, but right before my appointment, I grabbed my old phone that I had taken a picture of my postive pregnancy test with, and noticed the time stamp as August 11th, not the 5th or the 6th like I thought. So, it's possible her estimation is correct, but I still stand by what I saw with baby's limbs and whatnot. Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-6357888861397551272010-09-25T18:30:00.000-07:002010-09-25T18:30:25.235-07:00Baby's First picture! Here's the baby! It's little head is to the left, and you can see it's hand right above the head. Then to the right you can see it's legs. During the ultrasound, it was alternating kicking it's legs; it would kick one and then bring it up and then kick the other and bring it up, and it was also rocking back and forth and waving it's arms around.. totally looked like it was Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-25551427770012915842010-09-15T12:54:00.000-07:002010-09-15T12:54:15.400-07:00My Pregnancy So FarWell, today I'm exactly 10 weeks pregnant. So here's the summary of how it's been so far.
No morning/afternoon/evening sickness. However I have strong aversions to certain smells, and certain foods. The idea of eating tortillas for example.. totally grosses me out like nothing else. I've been craving red meat, cookies, spicy foods and sour/salty stuff.
No, I'm not Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-56678369728667605172010-08-16T15:15:00.000-07:002010-08-16T15:15:15.242-07:00Some Math For Ya + + + =the Five Hayfords! Oh, and of course we can't forget Casey. I LOVE this picture of him!

Studies have shown that people live longer, have a reduction in stress and therapy animals really help wonders with sick and disabled patients.
They apparently never had their dog end up on a roof.
Now, I know you're laughing right now, and going "How did THAT happen?"
Well, let me tell you. Now, I don't profess myself to be a dog whisperer or Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-31880940513338842982010-05-08T21:18:00.000-07:002010-05-12T12:13:33.435-07:00And They Aren't Even Teenagers Yet...... and already Zoe's making signs like this:
Yeah, that's correct. It's a picture of Jeff (left) and me. And there's NO above our heads. Apparently, no parents are allowed in their room*. The N is a bit lopsided, but it's very clearly a NO.
Amazing.. Zoe's nine years away from being a teenager, and already this.
Well, we always knew she was advanced for her age.

I can't begin to even say how happy we all are to be home. Over the course of the next week, I plan on blogging about the trip.. it'll include pictures, stories and maybe even a video or two.
We expanded our 'states visited' list from 5 to 15! Only 35 more to go... While we were driving into St Louis, I managed to get some pictures of the Gateway Arch! It's really impressive; well to me at least, I'm sure locals are unimpressed with Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-726859369329718083.post-74759870109839406062010-04-14T07:29:00.000-07:002010-05-12T12:14:31.574-07:00We Made It! Just letting my readers know that we made it safely to Virginia Beach! We're staying with my dad and we've managed to get lost a few times in the city already, saw some family and friends! Anyway, we did make it a point to go over and drive to see Hayford Avenue. However, we discovered based on the enormous size of all the houses on Hayford Ave, you have to have a ton of money to live on it. Some of the houses had to be more than 4,000 square feet and upwards of 6,000 square feet. Amber H.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00896235849587919033noreply@blogger.com0
